Primary
“It was a fun but educational trip. It has helped me to think about what I want to be when I’m older with a clear image of what I would actually be doing.”
-Year 6 Pupil
“We have been studying India for the last half term so this visit fits in well to our curriculum work. The businesses went to a lot of trouble to make us feel welcome. The children learnt lots of new facts; they were absolutely full of it the next day.”

Right to Read
“A joy to have an engaged adult who can share her delight of books with a young audience. right to read was able to engage my pupils with their choice of book and explore the text properly.”
-Year 4 Teacher
“Most of the children have made expected progress or better than expected progress. The children have looked forward to reading with the volunteers. The Year 5 boys have enjoyed reading and have had a good role model. The staff are delighted.”
-Year 5 Teacher
“The boys look forward to their reading sessions with the volunteers on Thursdays. Many do not get the time to read to an adult on a one to one basis and discuss the text afterwards. For some they have really started to enjoy reading, they think of it now as a pleasure and not a chore.”

Young Apprenticeship
“The YA programme helped me develop my professional behaviour, my communication skills, administration skills, working as part of a team and my organisational skills. I really enjoyed the programme; it was excellent and helped improve my GCSE results.
I enjoyed being able to go out and see how a business actually works behind the scenes and how they overcome any problems that they have.
I would have liked to see more different types of business on trips. I think the YA programme will help me achieve my goal of being employed in the future.”
-Year 10 Student
