
Teacher Placement Programme Introduction
The Teacher Placement Programme (TPP) supports the professional development of teachers in schools and colleges. Teachers participate in the programme in Leicestershire for professional, personal and curriculum development. Teachers along with their Staff Development Co-ordinator identify areas of development. This development can then be achieved by:
A placement or visit to a business, matching the needs of the teacher Attendance on a workshop, course or seminar co-ordinated by the LEBC, usually careers or curriculum focused Attendance at a Management Workshop during late afternoon on topical management subject
Volunteering
Businesses and employers can gain many benefits by becoming involved in this programme including:- Promotion of your business as a socially responsible employer in your local community Developing insight into education Influence the understanding of both teachers and students about your industry or business Utilising the expertise of teachers to enhance your business
Schools
Teachers can identify their own development needs either through their Staff Development Co-ordinator or by contacting the TPP team directly. Application forms are completed, or booking forms forwarded, in order to access the programme or courses. The TPP team can, through discussion of teacher needs, identify a suitable placement or recommend appropriate courses organised by the LEBC.
Teachers and senior management gain tremendous benefits by participating in the programme such as: career progression reinvigorating curriculum topics management development access to resources sourcing of companies for student visits or project work greater understanding of careers and refreshing subject areas with new ideas being involved in the schools' local community
