The 10th Annual LEBC Schools Fashion Show

What a fantastic evening – well done to all the students who took part and thank you to their incredibly dedicated teachers.

This year we were delighted to be joined by our Guest of Honour, Sarah Curran, from MyWardrobe.com who gave the students an insight into careers in the Fashion industry from her vast and impressive experiences.

LEBC Schools Fashion Show gives students aged 14 to 18 in city or county schools an opportunity to showcase their talents and exhibit the work that they have created, which is often used towards their coursework. Primarily textiles students, but also art, drama and dance students are invited to participate in this prestigious event that provides a unique experience and lasting memory. Students were involved with the set up of the event and are offered the opportunity to help out with the lighting and sound for those interested in technical careers behind the spotlight.

A massive thank you to our wonderful sponsors, without whom the event just isn’t possible:

  • George
  • John Cheatles Schoolwear

We would like to acknowledge James Lee from Leicester College who supported the event with his team of lighting and sound technicians for the 10th year running – a fantastic showcase of students’ talent – Thank You.

This year we were also delighted to welcome back our very own ‘Ant and Dec’, from Nottingham Trent University who compered the show and a Linford Butler from Countesthorpe College who took on the role of assistant stage manager.

Linford Butler commented:
“It was a great pleasure to return for my second year on the LEBC Schools Fashion Show, and for its incredible tenth anniversary. Again, I must give credit to all who put huge amounts of work into the show to make it the incredible annual event it is, including the back-stage and front-of-house staff I work alongside, to the incredible performers, and not to mention LEBC. Roll on March 2013!”

A huge thank you to the STEM Ambassadors who supported the event, especially Alex Bullard our Stage Manager Extraordinaire!

Sophie Allen & Liz Taylor from Beauchamp College commented:
“Our students and ourselves really enjoyed the show, we thought the running and times of the rehearsal and the show were excellent; a very fast and professional operation. The whole night ran so smoothly and the students really enjoyed being apart of the 10th year anniversary. Thank you so much for including Beauchamp and for all your hard work running up to and on the night. The photos are great and the feedback is very inspiring, I will make sure to show the girls. Thank you to Danielle and Fay once again, you organised a fabulous evening!”
