Parents
Parents make a difference!
Parents are ideally placed to help develop young people’s learning about the world of work. Work related learning is now a key element of learning throughout primary and secondary schools. Your experiences of work brings a much valued aspect to learning in the classroom. You could volunteer to take part in LEBC’s activities such as reading, science activities or even offer to take a young person on a work experience placement where you work.
We also organise work related activities for primary and secondary schools which involve taking employers into the classroom, hosting visits or giving talks. If you think that this is something which your employer might wish to do, we would be delighted to hear from them.

Work Experience
The school/college which your child attends may have referred you to our website to find out about work experience. We source work placements and carry out health, safety and welfare checks on employers who offer placements. Please click here for more.
LEBC is happy to guide and support parents of young people who wish their child to undertake work experience. Work Placements are individually matched to young people by understanding their work interests, travelling distances and a range of other factors.
Placements can be in a one week or two week block, or one day a week for a number of months to suit your needs. Please contact us for more infomation.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)
If you work in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths environment, you could become a STEM Ambassador and promote these subjects to young people in both primary and secondary schools. Please contact us to register your interest.
Appropriate training and support is given by LEBC throughout our activities and where necessary a check will also be carried out through the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
