VESA offers a range of services to schools in Leicestershire to support and develop training for 13-19 year olds, such as:- Curriculum and staff development Enhanced curriculum experiences and opportunities Managing and supporting collaborative partners
VESA also encompasses all activities previously offered by Leicester City Cluster, the focus being:- Student enhancement experiences Challenges from the 14-19 White Paper proposals Support for implementation and development of vocational subjects Implementing Applied A levels and GNVQs Co-ordinate and support Aim Higher initiative Progress File Work Related Learning for KS4 Changes to Citizenship, PSHE, Enterprise & Careers Education and Guidance Support for disengaged and under-achieving students - Key Skills / Basic Skills as part of the emerging 14-19 curriculum

The Alliance works with schools and colleges across the city and county to place students, giving them appropriate experiences that allow them to achieve a range of learning outcomes. A range of services offered include: - Arranging placements, block style
Bespoke placements for part year groups or for learners with particular curricular interest (eg. requiring a placement linked to a vocational course) Extended placements - for learners on curriculum programmes requiring placements for blocks of time (more than one or two weeks) or for one/two days per week across all, or part, of a year Curriculum Development
