2) The health and safety management programme for self-placing schools
Try something new with our robust approach to the management of work experience programmes for young learners. We have been in operation for nearly 20 years in the field of work experience and as recently as 2010 achieved the much sought after
LSC Outstanding award for our learner Health & Safety Management Systems.
We offer a Health & Safety Vetting Service for work experience placements for students, young people and trainees. Our experienced team are all our health and safety qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH level and this includes our admin team. With many years industry-related experience, each member brings with them their own unique specialism (e.g. Land-based, Labs etc). Our staff have to demonstrate a level of competency before being allowed to vet potential placements or input information relating to placement opportunities onto your very own real-time database bank of employers.
Any organisation or school organising work experience, apprenticeships, training provider programmes, school trips for students or trainees can access the service.
We have a database of over 7,000+ vetted and in-date placement opportunities. We can also check the status of several thousand more across the East Midlands.
How does the process work?
It’s very simple. If you haven’t used the service before, call 0116 240 7270 or email us and request details. We will contact you, discuss an agreement with you and when your ready, we will ask you to sign and return a service level agreement.
In simple terms, you request placements to us via your own unique real-time database (we provide you with) and we check our central database and notify you if the placement is either already on our system or will require a visit. The request is then processed. Following any visit a Job Description and Risk Assessment is produced and sent back to you automatically via your database.
How long does it take?
If the placement requires a visit we aim to give you at least 6 weeks clearance prior to the placement commencing.
What we offer:
• We implement a robust H&S audit process to safeguard students and establish the suitability of their placements.
• Provide clear, attractive and professional paperwork via your very-own-to-use real-time online system.
• We offer support, advice & guidance for any problems arising from your block work experience programme.
