3000 Students Engaging in STEM – LEBC in Partnership with University of Northampton
Wow, what a day of fun and STEM brilliantness the LEBC STEM Team had on Wednesday 12th June. A huge thank you to our hosts, University of Northampton, for inviting us to attend STEAM Northants. 42 schools and nearly 3000 students from primary to secondary attended on Wednesday, and the activities were endless, from learning about owls and handling animals, the bloodhound car, to fingerprinting and making marshmallows expand. We had some very competitive students trying to beat our eventual winner, a student from The Duston School, who built a tower from 60 cups in 60 seconds that stood an impressive 133cm tall!
Many of the amazing students also helped us in some research for an upcoming project on stereotypes in STEM careers, so we want to thank each and everyone for their important contributions.
The STEM team had lots of fun, and also gave out nearly 100 STEM goody bags to teachers.
