“When my mum arranged an interview with the Careers Adviser, I wasn’t sure how that would help much. I didn’t know what I wanted to do anyway. I wasn’t motivated to go. Once I was there, the Careers Adviser I saw was very friendly and assured me that there's always options and my future starts now. I feel more motivated and I have an idea of what I want to work towards. Thank you so much.”

I applied for an IT apprenticeship in Leicester through LEBC after receiving news of an apprenticeship opportunity at my college. Grace Ladkin helped me to improve my CV so that it was the best it could be. She gave me clear interview advice and encouragement prior to my interview. I was very successful and was chosen to be the new IT Apprentice. I cannot thank Grace enough for the help she has given and the constant boost of confidence throughout my time applying for my apprenticeship.

As his mum, I never thought he would have the confidence to take part in something like this but he has and I am amazed at how his confidence has grown. Meeting new people and doing exciting things, I hope that he can take these new skills when he starts out on his career path and excel at what he does. I would like to thank the NCS staff who are amazing – just like the young people who took part and completed their 4 week programme J.

Mason Heard- Finance Apprentice

LEBC has helped me in taking the next steps in life by playing a huge part in transitioning me from my A-Levels to a full time Finance Apprenticeship, which is what I have been aspiring to grasp since starting Year 12. They first helped me by talking me through changes I can make in my CV to make it more attractive to employers in the job role I desired. Once this had been done, I was invited to a ‘Mock Interview’ with the CEO of the company, Barbara, where she developed my knowledge of interviews and helped me realise what to prepare in order to stand a chance in being successful. Within a month of finishing my A-Levels, LEBC had already found a couple of apprenticeships that they felt would suit me. Despite the first one not working out, they helped me to remain positive and learn from the experience of not getting the job. When the second apprenticeship interview came, I felt more confident going in and got invited back to the second stage. One week later I tackled the second interview and came out knowing I had given it my best shot and been myself. Later that day, I received a call off Barbara telling me that I had been successful and that I would be starting on the 5th of August. I owe LEBC the world for helping me transition from A-Levels with no planned future, to securing a perfect apprenticeship suited to me.

I received my job offer the other day. Thank you for getting me this opportunity, I’m very grateful and your support was very effective. I have received an apprenticeship offer that gives me a great monthly salary and many future opportunities. Without this opportunity I would’ve had to settle for much less but now I have a chance to work hard and live well. Thank you for this Barbara!
