A Busy Month For School Events

In November the School Events team have ran five events with the help of 90 volunteers from over 70 companies, all in the aim to prepare young people for the world of work.

Events included Speed Networking, where students meet various different employers and have the opportunity to ask them as many questions as possible about their career paths or sector with an aim to gain more understanding of the opportunities on offer after education.

We also ran an exciting Careers day this month in which we dedicated the day to learning skills and qualities needed to be successful in the world of work. This included careers talks from 19 different sector specific volunteers who presented on industries that were of interest to the students. Sectors included the RAF, Law, Music, Marketing and many more.

Mock interviews have also been a big success in November, giving young people a chance to be exposed to an interview setting with feedback to carry forward into the working world.

We have also been able to assist primary students in being more aware of their further education with a University Experience, thanks to great student volunteers, the children had the chance to see what Loughborough University has to offer and what their future possibilities in education could look like.
