Leicestershire Education Business Company coordinates the East Midlands STEM Ambassador Hub to help inspire young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

STEM Ambassadors cross all ages and backgrounds, representing thousands of different employers across the UK. They volunteer to engage with young people from 5-19 years to help to open the doors to the world of opportunities and possibilities which come from pursuing STEM subjects and careers. We are now looking for a STEM Co-ordinator to join the team at our office in Leicester city.

This is a new role which has been created primarily to support the increase in digital engagement of our volunteers following the coronavirus pandemic and to strengthen the presence of the Hub on social media platforms.

We are looking for a creative, motivated and social media savvy individual, with excellent communication skills, who enjoys getting involved with a wide variety of projects. This role would be suited to an ambitious student or graduate that is ready to take on real responsibility and help us to transform our digital presence. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspect of the Hub’s work and will be able to contribute ideas to our growth plans.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring we maintain excellent relationships with all our volunteers, employers, teachers, schools and other stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and managing the STEM Ambassador website request system including the matching of volunteers to activities and data analysis.
  • Developing the digital engagement of volunteers including the production of video content
  • Creating regular, engaging newsletter and social media content for schools and volunteers
  • Auditing and analysing newsletter take up and social media presence to gather visitor data and determine efficacy.

 

This is a full time post.

Salary: £21,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
