AI’m High and change the world one click at a time

Can you support LEBC’s new innovative project working in collaboration with East Midlands Universities, Employers and STEM Ambassadors to empower underrepresented groups to gain the skills needed for a career in digital futures?

We are currently looking for companies who are willing to be a regional partner (looking for 1 company per county for Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire) and Ambassadors who would like to mentor students over the course of the next year to help them understand the vast job opportunities, and the skills required to obtain those jobs in the future. The project is unique in its research based three stage trickle down approach. Research shows that by creating a culture of teamwork and support we can not only equip students currently studying computer science, but also encourage younger students too, through peer mentoring. We are offering support to staff to upskill themselves or improve the quality and relevance of their resources. We are mentoring students already studying the courses and working with them to create their own club to help younger students get a passion for digital futures and how we can use then to change the world one click at a time. Not only will this hopefully drive up engagement in computer science and digital futures careers, but also ensure students learnt the soft skills employers are telling us students are currently lacking.

If you think you could help create resources, be a mentor for a year or help students create their own STEM club then please complete this formhttps://forms.office.com/e/DSRD7gkcS3
