Calling all Businesses

We have 21 events in schools across Leicester and Leicestershire taking place between now and the end of the Summer term – that’s 21 opportunities for you and colleagues to volunteer your time and help inspire the next generation!

Join over 200 other volunteers who regularly attend our events, to share your career journey, promote your sector and company, dispel stereotypes and highlight the skills and qualities that are important for success in your career.

Volunteers are welcome from all sizes of company, from sole traders to multinationals and from all sectors.

If you’ve never been back to school since you finished your GCSE’s / O Levels / A Levels then fear not, our Event Co-ordinator Lizzie Griffiths is there at the event to meet and greet you and the other volunteers, and to ensure the smooth running throughout. For most events a MSteams call prior to the event is all the preparation required, to give you a heads up of how the event will run and your role as a volunteer.

A small selection of the events we have coming up in April and May follows:

Apprenticeships Insight with a Secondary School in Leicester City

  • Date & Time: Wednesday 2nd April | 8:30am – 12:35 pm
  • Age of the students: Year 9 students (ages 13 – 14)
  • Location: Leicester LE2 0TU

This event is all about introducing students to Apprenticeships and what this may mean for a student considering entering the world of work. In this event, we arrange for students to be based in classrooms working through a series of teacher-led activities designed to increase their awareness of Apprenticeships.  As volunteers you will be based in a classroom with the students and their teacher, to bring a real-life perspective to the activities. You will be fully briefed on the activities beforehand, so you can plan the key points you want to deliver in the session.

For this Apprenticeships Day we require volunteers who have been through/currently studying an Apprenticeship, or who have experience of supporting or managing Apprentices in your organisation.
