Tuesday 28th May-
‘Things That Fizz’, Desborough Library
Children learn about chemical reactions, acids and alkalis and get to make a lemon volcano, a lava lamp and a fizz powered rocket.
‘DNA Discovery’, Northants Central Library
Children learn about what makes us on a cellular level and then what DNA is, making an edible model of DNA and a bracelet showing a section of DNA code for a human, a chimp, a fly, or a plant.
‘Earthquake Proof Towers’, Buckby Library
Children learn about towers across the world, look at the shapes within their structure and are then challenged to build the tallest tower that can withstand the earthquake test (placed on a tray of moving jelly).
Wednesday 29th May –
‘D-Day’, Raunds Library
Children learn what D-Day was, including how sound and light can be used for communication, a brief lesson in morse code, and craft sessions to create D-Day lanterns.
Thursday 30th May –

Friday 31st May–
‘Building Bridges’, Duston Library
Children learn about different types of bridges all over the UK and will take on a challenge to build a bridge from K-next.
‘Eco Systems’, Rothwell Library
Children learn about the different plants, insects and animals that live in some of the nature reserves across Northamptonshire, they learn about the importance of every living creature as we build a giant food web and look at the impact if just one species disappears. The children then make a wildflower seed bomb and a bird feeder to take home.
