Faraday Season 2023-24 Comes to a Close

The STEM team at LEBC is celebrating a highly successful delivery season for 2023/24, having completed 13 engaging Faraday Challenge Days across Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. These events reached an impressive total of 416 Year 8 students, providing them with a hands-on experience in engineering and technology.

Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with 97% of students expressing enjoyment of their Faraday experience. Even more encouragingly, 53% of students indicated that they are now considering a career in engineering following their participation.

Key to the success of these events was the involvement of STEM Ambassadors, whose expertise enriched the authenticity of the students’ experiences. Their contributions were instrumental in making the Faraday Challenge Days both educational and inspiring.

Looking ahead, the STEM team is gearing up for the new Faraday Challenge season, with 24 delivery slots available from September to May for pre-booked schools. Expansion is on the horizon, as the team plans to extend their reach into the East Midlands, complementing their existing efforts with the addition of Leicestershire, Rutland and Milton Keynes.

The 2024-2025 booking system is now closed but for more information on how the STEM team at LEBC can support you to deliver a DIY Faraday Challenge Day please contact them at faraday@leics-ebc.org.uk.  If you are a Faraday Challenge 2024-25 school, we will be in contact with you soon to arrange your 2024-25 booking.
