Help Santa choose his new Chief STEM Elf

Calling all Primary Schools in the East Midlands.

December approaches, Santa Claus is on the lookout for a new Chief STEM Elf, and he needs your students help! Santa’s Chief Elf is retiring after an impressive 187 years of service, and it’s time for a new leader to step up from Santa’s fabulous team of STEM Elves.

Throughout December, your students will have the unique opportunity to engage with Santa’s STEM Elves and learn about the vital role STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) plays in ensuring that Santa delivers gifts on time each year. Your students will get the chance to vote for who they believe should be the next Chief STEM Elf, with Santa counting on their judgement to select the best candidate for this important role.

By registering your school, you will gain access to numerous resources, including:

– An Introductory Video from Santa: Hear from Santa himself as he shares why he needs a new Chief STEM Elf and encourages students to participate in this exciting decision-making process. To view the video from Santa click here: https://youtu.be/l-YTM9xJARs

– Elf Job Applications: Each STEM Elf will provide a poster and job application outlining their qualifications and why they would make an excellent Chief STEM Elf. These materials can be utilised in various ways, whether during class activities, homework assignments, or STEM club sessions.

– Live Webinars: Students can join live webinars every morning at 9 AM throughout December, featuring 2-3 STEM Ambassadors each day. These webinars will include introductions, insights into how their roles assist Santa, and a Q&A session where students can pose job-related questions. Daily login details will be sent out, and recorded sessions will be available for those who wish to view it at a later time.

– Voting Opportunity: At the end of December, students will cast their votes via a Google form, and the results will be announced on social media, ensuring the winning Elf receives recognition in January.

This initiative is entirely free and offers a fun, interactive way for students to explore STEM careers, develop transferable skills, and learn about job applications and interviews.
