LEBC – Driving Continual Professional Development and Enhancing Employee’s Mental Health
LEBC is dedicated to improving both the mental health of our employees and our biggest stakeholders – young people in our community. The management staff at LEBC is either in the process of completing or has already finished a Mental Health First Aid England course.
What is Mental Health First Aid?
Physical First Aid courses teach you the initial help to give to an injured person if professional help isn’t required or before professional help is accessed. The same applies to Mental Health First Aid. It is the support given to someone experiencing poor mental health if professional help isn’t required or before professional help is accessed. You may need to check someone is ok, you may need to refer them to other supports, or you may need to seek immediate professional help.
LEBC recognise the skills developed as a result of attending the course can be useful in looking after our staff’s wellbeing, our stakeholder’s wellbeing (young people we meet as a result of our careers services), and in supporting our own wellbeing.
