Here’s a reminder of how our work is supporting local young people, tackling Social Mobility and boosting resilience, confidence and aspirations:
Our Work Experience team ensure over 6,000 local students each year, have equal opportunity of a safe, impactful and insightful Work Experience Opportunity – national research shows that attending work experience reduces the probability of becoming NEET (dropping out of education) from 11% to 7%, and increases confidence and boosts motivation to achieve when they return to school, along with supporting employers to raise awareness of their job opportunities and promote their industry to help attract future talent.
Our Careers Team supports schools to access inspirational business representatives to bring careers education to life, opening students minds about their future career prospects and ensuring they have a realistic plan for their next steps, with over 100 events this year to date.
Our dedicated Apprenticeship support helps students who are struggling to find opportunities and secure interviews at no cost to them, giving them the boost they need to secure the right Apprenticeship for them.
Our STEM work, with the involvement of over 1,000 STEM Ambassadors, is inspiring thousands of students each year, to help address the UK Skills Gap and to support schools in encouraging students to see the value of studying STEM subjects at A Level and beyond.
If we were to win a £5,000 grant we could invest more in supporting SEND young people to access Work Experience placements in 2024/25 and boost their knowledge and skills for the workplace.
Thank you for being part of LEBC’s impact to inspire all young people to reach their potential, and an extra thank you if you can spare the time to nominate us.
