Senior Assessor – Health and Safety

We have a rare opportunity to join LEBC as the Senior Health and Safety Assessor.

NEBOSH General Certificate and experience of managing and leading others is essential.

The role is home based (must be in Leicestershire) and required daily travel to businesses across the county and into Northamptonshire.

Main purpose of the role:

To lead the management and development of LEBC’s H&S and Welfare audit and assessment programme in support of LEBC’s Work Experience (WEX) brokerage and careers services.

The Senior Assessor is responsible for leading and supporting a small team of Assessors in the delivery of the H&S and Welfare audit programme to ensure that they are achieving the targeted number of visits and to the required standards.  This will include progress monitoring against programme targets and supporting them with their continuous professional development needs.

The post holder will be responsible for leading the audits of Alternative Provisions (APs), working with relevant agencies to ensure the audit process is robust and of a high standard.

The post holder will also be responsible for carrying out H&S and welfare suitability checks of businesses, who are hosting work placements. This will include agreeing job role descriptors with placement supervisors and ensuring that they are aware of their legal responsibilities and have appropriated safe systems of work in place that relate to the work placement job role.

In the event of an incident or accident during a work placement or careers activity the Senior Assessor will be responsible for co-ordinating findings with the work placement provider, schools and LEBC management.
