Get involved with Young Coders 2024!

The Young Coders Competition is a UK-wide competition for children aged 7 to 13. Each year, children are challenged to make a game using Scratch that aligns with a particular theme. The theme for 2024 is: “Time and Space”.

Schools, Code Clubs, Yough Groups, and home schooled are welcome to take part and submit entries.

All entries get reviewed and assessed by STEM AMbassadors with feedback given to all entries.

Both the winning UK primary (UK school years 4, 5 and 6 – aged 7 to 11) and secondary schools (UK school years 7 and 8 – aged 11 to 13) will also receive Prize Money:

  • First Prize: £200
  • Second Prize: £100
  • Third Prize: £50

There will be a certificate for ‘Best International Entry’. Unfortunately, the prize money will only be awarded within the UK, but we are happy to receive entries from overseas.

For 2024, we have secured funding from WCIT to further build upon our free coding resources; you can learn more via the recorded version of our Informational Webinar for Educators, where we went through these resources: https://youtu.be/8pX-MTueVkw

The Young Coders 2024 Competition entry deadline is Friday 10th May 2024.
