Leicestershire Education Business Company (LEBC), a charity opening up career opportunities for young people by connecting businesses with schools and colleges for over 30 years.  LEBC’s services helps future generations transition from education to the workplace by providing careers guidance, employer encounters and work experience with employers looking to find talent. 

I volunteer to help younger people because I wish I had the opportunity myself to speak to adults about their career paths what to do when you are indecisive. LEBC run great initiatives and events that I am so honoured to be a part of. They really do it all for the benefit of the young people and giving them that visibility that it’s ok not to be 100% sure what you want to do now, but here are some skills/things to think about that will help you, whichever option you choose.

IBM

Through LEBC I have met hundreds of young people as a STEM Ambassador and enjoy helping young people to understand what they need to understand and the qualifications they need to help them into the world of work.

School of Thought

I volunteer as a schools ambassador as this provides me with an opportunity to serve others and give something back.  I enjoy working with LEBC because the events make a difference to others and are very well organised.

MOD

I volunteer because, as a young professional, I think it is important that children and young people have relatable role models within the fields they’re interested in. I think it’s important to pay it forward; to give back where possible, and to demonstrate that it is possible to bridge that gap between education and employment when you set your mind to it.
