SCHOOLS & COLLEGES

Work Experience & Alternative Provisions

We specialise in creating a smooth transition from education to the world of work.

Work experience is an essential part of that process as it helps to build confidence and skills within a real working environment.

Last year, we placed over 6,000 students in quality work experience placements in organisations across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Northamptonshire. Your students could be next.

How we can help your students

  • We can provide one-week block placements, and/or extended 1 day a week placements, for students from Year 10 onwards
  • Our network of placement host businesses and organisations covers all sectors from Animal Care to Law and everything in-between
  • Our expert work experience coordinators will support you and your students from start to finish
  • All placements come with a Risk Assessment and Placement agreement form (paper or electronic versions available)
  • We can carry out Alternative Provision Health, Safety and Welfare audits to support students on alternative curriculum courses
  • Our Work Experience programme supports your school to achieve and evidence the Gatsby Benchmarks

To ensure your students are in safe hands, our assessors:

  • Are qualified to NEBOSH or IOSH standard depending on the risk level of the placement that we are checking
  • Work closely with other partners including LADO and safeguarding in education teams across the City and County
  • Visit all placements to check insurances, health, safety and welfare are suitable prior to students attending a placement
  • Assist in any investigation needed if a student reports concerns or an incident whilst on their placement
  • Check all safeguarding aspects of a placement and advise if a DBS check should be considered
  • Ask all employers to sign a letter of understanding so they are aware of their responsibilities when they have a student on placement
  • Will work with local agencies regarding concerns raised and the ongoing suitability for that placement
