What is an apprenticeship?
An apprentice is paid to work for an employer whilst studying for a qualification relevant to their role.
- The apprentice will earn a wage working alongside experienced staff and gaining job-specific skills
- At least 20% of their contracted hours will be spent studying with a local training provider, chosen by the employer
- Depending on the level of qualification the apprenticeship can take 1 to five years to complete
