A former Brookvale Groby Learning Campus Student, Nikolai Simic chose the apprenticeship route to get ahead in his career. He was successful in securing an apprenticeship within 3M and shares his experience below.
“I am training to become a multi-skilled maintenance technician that supports a contract pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation. Training will be both at offsite training institutions and in the workplace. The qualification I will be studying are NVQ Level 3 Engineering. The apprenticeship is a four-year course. The apprenticeship suits me as I am a practical learner and feel that the work based learning route is better suited to my personality and traits and therefore this route will allow me to learn, progress, utilise my ability and talent to achieve further qualifications in an engineering field. Also, I like the fact that I will be being paid at the same time as learning.”
